It’s me again! Who missed me? Nah, just kidding. I’m now back from Camp Yuber which is like the best leadership training camp IN THE WORLD. Yeah, literally in the world.
What’s Camp Yuber? It’s this 5 day experimential leadership training camp that allows campers to let go of their Fimage. I know fimage is not a word but we call it short for fear of image. Fimage is that we’re worrying too much about how we look to others. WHO CARES? Just go out and do it! “As soon as you start worrying that others think you’re stupid, you are stupid”
We stayed in this “dorm” that is a cheapskate hotel in Port Dickson. Four in a room. HMMMM… Thats a bit cheapskate right? We paid RM1,890 for a room with 2 beds and 2 extra beds? Luckily i got the bed though. My roomates were okay, they let me like take lead or something.
As soon as the second day started, the activities have begun. It was raining outside that day so we couldn’t go as planned, to the beach. Damn it. We were like waiting for that the entire trip. Apparently they used this big hall as our “classroom” and they have many ways of doing stuff. We were splitted into teams so we had a team cheer.
The food there was way below average of what we call HUMAN FOOD. The rice was like rice cake, drink was as usual, the syrup, fish were those that once you cook it, nobody would eat it type, chicken was quite amusing, veges were quite weird. Funny looking food usually tastes bad. I learned that even when they never taught it to us.
So every night we would have this team chat, sometimes was about public speaking, then we would have to make a fake audience and a fake stage. Sometimes it was a team interview, and at the last day was the strength acknowledgements which everyone had to say something good or some attitude changes before and after the camp. That made some break into tears.
The camp was filled with activities. Here’s a small brain tip. Stand up straight, draw a line between your entire body, top to bottom. Thats the center line. Believe it or not, your brain actually has these “wires” in them, called the neural pathways. The more you have, the higher the brain capacity. And if you are moving your right hand, thats actually using your left brain, so it’s like criss-crossing your movement controls. Try to make your hands go through the line you drawn in the center, and it will change from your left brain to your right brain. Try it out, scientists treid it on Einsteins brain and his neural pathways are way more than ours. So if we exercise our brain enogh, we could be geniuses!
